Saga of Zenaria

Combat

Every Strike Has a Type

No ability bar. No parry button. Your weapon, your timing, and the kind of blow you choose.

Two buttons

Fight on the Mouse

You fight with the left and right mouse button, and with both together. Each weapon has styles: chains of strikes such as a thrust, then a spinning sweep, then a dash behind the shield. You swap styles as you grow and build the sequences that suit you.

Blocks, counters and ripostes are not buttons you press. They come from the strikes themselves: a well-chosen blow at the right moment turns the fight on its own.

  • Left-click chains, right-click chains, and both together
  • Styles you unlock and swap as you progress
  • Shields guard their front half while they swing

The exchange

Thrust, Sweep, Cleave, Shield

When a strike lands on a foe who is mid-attack, the two types decide what happens. Read a row as your strike, and a column as theirs.

Blocked: the attacker staggers. Clash: both stumble and are pushed apart. Sweep is a horizontal strike, cleave a vertical one.

The armoury

Server-true

The world server resolves every exchange thirty times a second. Animations stretch to fit the numbers, never the other way round.

Same tick, fair call

Two strikes of the same type in the same instant clash, except cleaves, which both land. Otherwise the table decides.

PvE and PvP

The same rules hold against a marsh beast and against another player. Learn them once, use them everywhere.
